President’s Speech on Health Care

“Under this plan, it will be against the law for insurance companies to deny you coverage because of a preexisting condition.”

This may sound glorious on paper but this will not help many people. If a company can not judge who to except and who to not except insurance companies will fall.

“There may still be companies that refuse to do right by their workers by giving them coverage.”

Is Obama making a moral judgment on companies now? “That refuse to do right”! Companies have to do what they can to survive, the president doesn’t have the right to make moral judgments of the people.

What is Wrong with Government Health Care?

As time passes Obama gets more and more desperate to create government health care. Though no politician will admit it Obama’s “health care REFORM” will eventually destroy all other options, and lead to a government takeover of our health care. Michael D. Tanner of the CATO Institution wrote these three big lies of Obamacare:

1)      “If you like your current health-care plan, you can keep it.”
“In the end, millions of Americans would be forced out of the insurance they have today and into the government plan. Businesses, in particular, would have every incentive to dump their workers into the public plan. The actuarial firm the Lewin Group estimates that as many as 118.5 million people, roughly two-thirds of those with insurance today, would be shifted from private to public coverage.”
2)      “You will pay less.”
The Congressional Budget Office has made it clear that the reform plans now being debated will increase overall health-care costs. … The final health-    care bill is expected to cost more than $1 trillion over the next 10 years. That means much higher taxes, and not just for the wealthy.”
3)      “Quality will improve.”
“Anyone who thinks a government takeover of the health-care system will improve quality of care has only to look at the health-care programs the government already runs: The Veterans Administration is overwhelmed with problems, Medicaid is notorious for providing poor quality at a high cost — and Medicare has huge gaps in coverage.”

Many people believe that we need health care reform, and I am one of those people, but I believe that the government does not need to have any role in such a reform. Stand up for the free market! Stop a Government Health Care Reform!

Facts on the Health Care Bill From National Center for Policy Analysis.

“The bill creates a new government-run health plan that will undercut the private market pushing as many as 119 million people out of their private health insurance and be forced into a Medicaid-like plan. Employers will be pressed to drop their insurance benefits and send their employees over to the new government plan. This provision doesn’t apply to Members of Congress, who will be able to keep their health plan. The bill will also create a new federal health board, a group of government bureaucrats that will decide whether your health care is effective or not, which could endanger your ability to receive the health care you need. To pay for the new federal health board, there will be a new “fair share” tax imposed on everyone’s health insurance to raise $375 million needed for the new bureaucracy. The government has not yet decided what your portion will be. As I previously wrote to you, there will be a new “tax on individuals without acceptable health care coverage.” In other words, if your health insurance isn’t government-approved you will be taxed.”

Scary.  If congress was willing to accept it, then we would know they had confidence in it, but no, they keep their superior plan, because ours is probably going to suck.

Government Health Care

President Obama and the Congress are pushing for reforms that will move the US health care system closer to a nationalized system like that of Canada or Great Britain. If this is successful, you will have fewer health care choices and your access to care will be more limited. The government, not you and your doctor, will be responsible for determining whether you receive care. You will be “wait listed” for critical diagnostic tests. You may wait two or three years for surgery. You may not have access to life-saving cancer and other drugs. Yet, you will pay higher taxes.

You can help stop this government takeover of health care. Send a message by signing the petition at www.freeourhealthcarenow.com.

In my college history class, I learned about those terrible things those rich, evil capitalists did, how they manipulated the markets and mistreated their employees.  With the terrible results of higher wages and lower prices.   Don’t you hate free market operations?  One more thing to keep in mind: don’t be decieved by life span comparisons of health care systems (i.e. Europeans live longer than us so their health care systems are better than our health care system).  Using better measurements, such as survival rates of those with potentially terminal diseases (among entire population) America fares much better.  In fact, I believe that most of those types of measurements will put America at #1.
