I was thinking about the career politicians in the Senate and the House are right now. That led me to thinking about term limits and I believe in term limits but sometimes we get good politicians in there so this is my proposed 28th amendment;

Section 1: No person shall be elected to the Senate and serve more than six years, but shall be eligible for re-election in two years following their last term of service.

Section 2: No person shall be elected to the House and serve more than four years, but shall be eligible for re-election two years following their last term of service.

I am curious as to your opinions on this amendment, please leave your comments or at least answer the poll below.

Thanks,

The Problems with the Cap and Trade

Only 2% of the world’s energy comes from renewable resources, yet Obama believes that we can now make that number skyrocket just by making it a bill. Dr. Keith Lockitch of the Ayn Rand Institute wrote this about using more “green” resources.

“This view is a fantasy–one that could devastate America’s economy. The reality is that “green energy” is at best a sophisticated make-work program.”

Barrack Obama said:

“Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”

Why? Because it will be nearly impossible to use green energy. Dr. Lockitch said that it would take “1,000 wind turbines, occupying tens of thousands of acres, to produce as much electricity as just one medium-sized, coal-fired power plant.”

Despite our promises from our president this Cap and Trade bill will not work.

We need to stand up and show President Obama that he can’t sneak things in behind our back. We will stand and fight! We must protest this Cap and Trade bill and not allow it to be passed in the Senate. Let us act now before it is too late. Our government for the people, and by the people will not perish!

Government Health Care?

Yesterday, June 8th, nine out of the ten Republican Senators on the Senate Finance Committee signed a letter to Pres. Obama that stated that having government run health care would not help the economy. The letter stated:

“At a time when major government programs like Medicare and Medicaid are already on a path to fiscal insolvency, creating a brand new government program will not only worsen our long term financial outlook but also negatively impact American families who enjoy the private coverage of their choice. Forcing free market plans to compete with these government-run programs would create an unlevel playing field and inevitably doom true competition.”

Hopefully, Obama will realize that government health care is not the way to help our economy. We as Americans would not benefit from government health care. Look at Canada and Britain, they both use government health care. It is actually fairly common for richer Canadians to come down to America for their health care because our health care is so much better than their government health care. Let us also hope that the Republicans in congress are actually waking up and are going to be willing to fight against some of the very liberal anti-free-market plans.
