A Vicotory!

I am proud to report what many believe to be a victory for the free market and for America!

For many months I have had little to no good news about what has been happening in Washington. I can finally say We The People have accomplished something!

I have been asking myself why haven’t I heard anything about the cap and trade bill for a while? I found my answer today at the CATO Institutes’ Website.

“Simple: the votes aren’t there for it. Blanche Lincoln, the new head of the Agriculture Committee, calls cap-and-trade a “complete non starter” and said that it is not her “preference to move on cap and trade this year.” Majority Leader Harry Reid recently signaled his agreement by stating that cap-and-trade “may” not be considered until next year. For cap-and-trade, “next year” translates as “never.” Senators know what touched off the town halls, and they know what fate awaits many of their Democratic colleagues come November 2010. Passing an unpopular health care “public option” along with cap-and-trade will easily realign the Senate into its old filibustering self. That kills cap-and-trade in the next Congress.”            – Cato Institute (Patrick J. Michaeles)

The people stood up for the free market and informed their representatives and senators that they did not support this bill and because of that we have won the battle. Good job America!

We Must Understand What The Government is Trying to do to Us

Today, I finally found the full text for H.R. 2998, also known as the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009, but still more commonly known as the Cap and Trade bill. I have trudged through the first 35 pages of this 1201 page bill, and I shake in anger at what Washington is trying to put us through. I will write more on my findings tomorrow but till then please go to govtrack.us and start reading this bill for yourself.

The Problems with the Cap and Trade

Only 2% of the world’s energy comes from renewable resources, yet Obama believes that we can now make that number skyrocket just by making it a bill. Dr. Keith Lockitch of the Ayn Rand Institute wrote this about using more “green” resources.

“This view is a fantasy–one that could devastate America’s economy. The reality is that “green energy” is at best a sophisticated make-work program.”

Barrack Obama said:

“Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”

Why? Because it will be nearly impossible to use green energy. Dr. Lockitch said that it would take “1,000 wind turbines, occupying tens of thousands of acres, to produce as much electricity as just one medium-sized, coal-fired power plant.”

Despite our promises from our president this Cap and Trade bill will not work.

We need to stand up and show President Obama that he can’t sneak things in behind our back. We will stand and fight! We must protest this Cap and Trade bill and not allow it to be passed in the Senate. Let us act now before it is too late. Our government for the people, and by the people will not perish!

The Cap and Trade bill was passed by the house last week, but by how much???

Why are we as American Citizens passing a bill that only 7 more representatives liked??? Why are we staying silent! If the House represents us at all that means that there are a lot of us who don’t like this bill, and my guess is more don’t like it than do like it! We need to stop a bill that can only pass by 7 votes! America wake up and make this be a government run by the people, for the people! Please call your Senators and tell them to stop this bill. Stand up for your rights and protect the America that our Founding Fathers created! It is time that we stop standing by idling and “hoping for the best”. That is what Obama wants us to do, “hope”. We must act and not just hope. WE control the government, not Obama, Pelosi, and Ried. Let us stop the Cap and Trade bill now, and show the government who really controls it.

Cap and Trade

Everyone is complaining about the Cap and Trade bill, and for a good reason, but our complaints don’t reach the senate from here. I challenge every American to call up their senators and tell them that under no circumstances our they to pass the Cap and Trade bill. Call them and Email them. Do everything YOU can to prevent this bill from passing in the Senate. We must stop this bill in it’s tracks! America it is time to band together! A government BY THE PEOPLE, and For the people. We must take government back into our hands, before we forever lose it. America call your senators, tell them that they can not vote for this bill or they will lose your vote. Make them see that it is not their America, but OUR America. American Citizens it is time that we made a difference once more!
